An outpouring of art

So: I have actually been doing a bit recently, but have completely neglected this blog in the meantime. I thought it was time to put up my newer work, given I've just directed some people here :D

This one to the left is my very first plein air piece. It was an oil, painted at Kerry Lake near Macedon.

This one was from an acrylics course I did - a seascape, if you can't tell :D We also did a landscape:

and a "feeling" abstract (this is meant to be turmoil)

Last but not least: I'm still doing life drawing occasionally - this is one of my favourites

I have even done another lion cub, but don't have a photo - will have to get one. That's it for the moment, but at least it is something!

Life Drawing

I've also decided to take up life drawing. I have a big goal I want to pursue by year's end, and this is a part of it. This is my first effort: the subject was an older male. I am pretty happy with this, especially because it has shown me where I really need to focus (head, hands, feet, genitals, proportions).

Part of the point of this is to learn to sketch quickly and from real life. So far my pencil work has been painstaking and long winded - this should help me to loosen up a little bit!
